Ray nieves
Ray Nieves was born and raised in Maricopa and is a true “Maricopan”. He goes by Ray although his given name is Raymond, which he only is called if he is in trouble with his mom or grandparents. Ray graduated from Maricopa High School and attended Arizona State University for a year before changing his academic focus to electro-mechanical studies and completing Refrigeration Trade School. Ray has been in the HVAC business since 2006 and started his own local air conditioning and heating company, 911 Air Repair, in 2017. He said, “I have been in the industry my entire adult life and it is awesome to be a part of a trade that I am able to help others, face new challenges daily and provide career opportunities to other members of my community”. Ray’s dedication and drive for excellence has helped him become one of the highest rated AC contractors in the area. Although Ray aspired to a NBA player and an astronaut as a child, he has become a very successful business owner in the HVAC industry and highly respected in his community.
Ray and McKenzie have 4 young children, sons Remy and Rayden and daughters Alivia and Abigail, with ages ranging from 8 years old to 2 months old. In addition to their young family, they have a huge Labrador named Dodger. It is not uncommon to see Ray and his family out at Copper Sky regional park and at various Maricopa community events like Salsa Night, Merry Copa and 4th of July Great American Barbeque.
With his busy work schedule and family life, Ray always makes time and the commitment to serve the community that he grew up in. We asked Ray what he is passionate about his community involvement, “Being a product of my community, I always try to give back when I can whether it is through sponsorships of the teams at different schools, helping with an E-sports center at Copper Sky, or donating to non-profits in the area like the Maricopa Friends of the Arts, Maricopa Police Foundation, Boys & Girls Club of the Sun Corridor, Maricopa Pantry and F.O.R. Food bank”. Ray exudes that stewardship involvement and giving back to his Maricopa community by also serving on the Maricopa Community Foundation Board and Executive Committee and the Maricopa Police Foundation Board. With his true sense of supporting local businesses, he has also served on the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce board in the past.
